International Students in Norway

The survey aims to gain knowledge on Norway’s reputation as as a study destination among international students with regard to socioeconomic background. It also aims to map out the motivation behind the choice of Norway as a study destination, how satisfied they are with the studies and their future prospects.

The survey is conducted on a regular basis and will map the changes in students’ expectations to, and experiences of, studying in Norway. It also maps the accessibility of information, and which channels of information that are preferred by the respondents. As of 2016 the survey changed its name to International Students in Norway from Reputation Survey among International Students in Norway.

Data are freely accessible for researchers and students at universities and colleges. International Students in Norway, 2016 with open-ended questions is made available for research purposes (including phd and master theses) when ordered.

All surveys can be downloaded is formats that support SPSS, Stata and SAS.

Users are obliged to refer to producer and distributor of the data.

Deposit requirements

Access to data is given on the condition that NSD gets three copies, alternatively a PDF-file, of eventual reports that are written on the basis of the data. These will be referred to on our webpages and can be made accessible online, if requested.
